OFF THE GRID

“Off the Grid” was named such with a nod to a tad more luxury than the Northern woods are used to! The open concept living room, dining room and kitchen have an impressive cathedral trussed beamed ceiling with extensive windows offering plenty of natural ambient light. The two storey granite fireplace surrounded by the locally cut large white pine logs is an inviting place for family gatherings on cooler summer evenings. It is the perfect place to surround yourself with the warmth of the cabin during the winter months. Can you imagine the feeling of settling into an after dinner drink around the fire with the allure of all things northern and the perfect balance of granite stone, logs and massive beams. As you settle into an after dinner drink around the fire there is a lingering and calming scent of fresh sawn wood and pine forest from the cottage itself.

The porch also has a custom made plastic enclosure used to block the wind and provide a comfortable environment which will be in place from the fall to the spring to extend the outdoor time in luxury and comfort. The wrap around porch completes the outdoor ex After all the outdoors is what its all about up here in Northern Algonquin! June 1st-October.

After spending two New Years Eve in this cottage, I have fallen in love! The place is brand new with amazing great outdoors decor. This large cottage comfortably fits a large number of guests. The kitchen has all the essentials needed to cooks various elaborate meals. The washrooms and bedrooms are very well kept and clean with plenty of hot water and heat to keep everyone warm. The living room and basement are great areas to spend time as a group, it even has a pool table and wifi for entertainment. The covered patio allowed us to enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake! Moreover, the location is ideal as it allows for long hikes around the lake and area.

Algonquin Moose Lodge is a well-kept secret. Beautiful setting in winter or summer with lots to do. We loved the screened in porch overlooking the pond to just kick back with a glass of wine and a book. The night sky is filled with millions of stars. A great retreat!
